It's compatible with smartphones, laptops, and pretty much any gaming headset out there. It delivers stellar 18 hour battery life. We wish there were some sort of case to toss it - along with the removable microphone - into or clip it directly to the headset when it’s not in use.ĭespite this minor annoyance, we think overall the Arctis 1 headset is solid. Because the USB-C receiver is so small (it’s just over an inch long), it’s extremely easy to lose. Our biggest complaint about the headset is that no carrying case or pouch is included with it. We found that the Arctis 1 was a bit more bass-heavy than the Arctis 3 and 7 headsets we’ve also tested, but in terms of overall sound quality - both for music and gaming - the headphones held up.

Soundĭuring our tests with the Arctis 1 Wireless, we played the rhythm game Thumper for its killer soundtrack. Since the Switch doesn’t support Bluetooth, this one uses a 2.4GHz wireless signal to transmit the audio. That’s because it comes with a tiny USB-C receiver that, when plugged into the bottom of your Nintendo Switch (or Switch Lite), can stream audio to your console. It’s also one of the few wireless solutions for the Switch that won’t have any noticeable audio lag. Although you can't see it on the surface, a smart design choice that makes this headset stand out is that it forgoes the convoluted method most headsets require for voice chatting.
